Thank you to the wonderful people of Pershore who responded so well to the Pershore Rotary Club Appeal on Saturday 5th March.
The street collection on Saturday outside ASDA, the Town Hall and Tesco came to £2,483.88. The locations were manned by Pershore Rotarians, Pershore Inner Wheel members and friends, and huge thanks to all of them for standing out there on what was such a cold day.
Our online donations came to over £800, and Gift Aid to come from the government will bring the grand total to over £4,000.
Thanks also to ASDA, Tesco and Wychavon District Council for allowing us to make the collection.
It was really heart warming to see the response from the People of Pershore. Often, as is often the case since Covid, people apologised for not having any cash to put in the bucket but either went off to a cash machine to get some or else took note of the website and generously donated online.
Donations already on their way to help
£2,000 has gone to Shelterbox, whom we checked with to make sure that their aid was happening right now. You may have seen their appeals on the television in the last week.
£1,000 has gone to the Disaster and Emergencies Committee (DEC), and the remainder will be going as soon as we get the gift aid (claim already made) from HMRC, together with late donations that are still coming in almost daily. That should be over £1,000 more, making the grand total of over £4,000.
THANK YOU PERSHORE
