In England and Wales the #White Ribbon charity campaigns to prevent violence against women and girls by engaging men and boys and supports #16 Days of Activism; the 2025 theme is We Speak Up and asks each of us to call out sexist banter, comments and behaviour when we witness it.
Today is the first day of #16 Days of Activism, an annual global campaign that begins on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and ends on 10th December, Human Rights Day.
According to UN Women, 1 in 3 women worldwide has experienced physical or sexual violence, predominantly by an intimate partner.
