On the first Wednesday of the month we hold a business meeting at the Queen Elizabeth, Elmley Castle, starting at 6pm. Please arrive early to buy your drinks so that we can start the meeting promptly.

Following the business meeting, many of us will will stay on for an optional social supper, and both members and visitors are warmly invited to join us.

James Barnett was selected by Pershore Rotary to attend the Rotary Youth World Affairs Seminar 2026 held at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin USA. The seminar ran from Saturday, 20 to Friday, 26 June 2026.

To quote the promotional material, the Rotary Youth World Affairs Seminar is an immersive week long international youth leadership camp that brings together students aged 16 to 18 from around the world to explore pressing global issues and promote “Peace through Understanding”.

James, who was 17 at the time, lives in Pershore and attends Bromsgrove School. In presenting his application to us, he had to submit a cv and a “Statement of Interest”, designed to extract some knowledge of world affairs and his ambitions.

On his return he wrote and said, "The world affairs seminar is an incredibly enriching and special experience like no other. The opportunity to speak to like minded people with such positive aspirations and ideas for what the future can and should hold from all over the world is an experience that is truly special that I feel honoured to be a part of. In addition to this, hearing the stories and views of such great and inspirational people is a once in a lifetime opportunity that leads to great personal thought and reflection on what we, as young people, can do to have such a significant impact as many of the speakers did. Overall, not only was the world affairs seminar thought provoking and inspirational, it was also great fun.”
