Gordon Hartley-Bennett - a man of music, words, and community, Gordon’s legacy lives on — and on 18th October at Pershore Abbey, we’ll honour him in the best way possible: with music.
This October, we celebrate the life of Gordon Hartley-Bennett (1936–2024), a gifted musician, teacher, and proud Pershore Rotarian.

Gordon worked for 16 years with the Royal Shakespeare Company, performing in Stratford-upon-Avon, London, and across the world.

He founded Perscoran Brass in 1983, bringing together almost 50 young players for two decades.

In 1988, he launched the Pershore Midsummer Brass Festival, now a much-loved tradition in the town.

He later conducted the Alcester Victoria Silver Band for 8 years, forging lasting friendships through music.A man of music, words, and community, Gordon’s legacy lives on — and on 18th October at Pershore Abbey, we’ll honour him in the best way possible: with music.
