About the event

On the third Monday of the month, we meet at the Queen Elizabeth in Elmley Castle. It is a very pleasant community pub with good food and friendly and helpful volunteer staff. After an early dinner, we hear from a guest speaker and then, if needed, we have a short business discussion about activities and plans.

Please note, we will be sitting down to dinner promtly at 6:30pm, so please arrive by 6:15 at the latest and buy your drinks and pay for your meals in advance.

This month's speaker is Martyn Palmer from "The Evesham and Pershore Parkinson's Friendship Group".

This year Parkinson's UK has been nominated by President Peter Gardner as his charity for the Pershore Rotary Year.

Most of us know someone who has Parkinson's, someone who is living and supporting someone with Parkinson's or, sadly, someone who has died with Parkinson's.

“The Evesham & Pershore Parkinson’s Friendship Group offers information, friendship and support to local people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers. We are part of the Worcester and District Branch of Parkinson’s UK. We organise regular events and social activities. Join us – and meet other people affected by Parkinson’s in our area.”

We are very lucky to have Martyn, who has lived in Bishampton for the last 25 years and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 8 years ago, who is joining us and will give us a brief overview of Parkinson’s UK, an insight into the local activities of the Evesham & Pershore Parkinson’s Friendship Group and some personal thoughts on living with Parkinson’s.

If you woiuld like to join us and find out more about Rotary's charity work in supporting local and international needs, please contact our secretary Andrew Turner on 07774 466209 or secretary@pershorerotary.club. Meals must be ordered in advance and the menu is available from Andrew.
