A Marathon in aid of Prostate Cancer UK

President Lynne Raymer said "The Rotary Club of Pershore is pleased to be sponsoring Rotarian Peter Gardner in his efforts to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK."

Rotarian Peter gave us the background: "Three years ago, with many kind donations, I raised £2,050 for Prostate Cancer UK. This year, with support from The Rotary Club of Pershore, I am going to do the 26.2 miles throughout January to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK again. Now that I'm 75 and have had two spinal operations, I am strictly forbidden to run or jog – so I will be one of the participants speed walking, and I intend to walk every day, rain, wind or snow, to do at minimum 26.2 miles. I may even get some of my Rotary Colleagues to walk the occasional mile or two with me. Annual screening probably saved my life in 2016, and many of my friends have been treated successfully after I nagged them to get tested."

Please take pity on this ancient, cold and wet and foot sore Rotarian over January, raising money to help fund lifesaving research and support.
