Plum-tastic Fun at the Pershore Plum Festival
A visual reflection on a beautiful day in the sun
The sun shone brightly and the crowds turned out in their hundreds for this year’s Pershore Plum Festival, held on Bank Holiday Monday, 31 August.
The Abbey Park was a colourful hive of activity, with cars of all shapes, sizes and colours on display and their proud owners enjoying the sunshine. Many visitors settled down for a picnic lunch, admiring the gleaming vehicles and chatting with fellow enthusiasts.

The market stalls were equally busy, with eager shoppers browsing and buying everything from local plums and homemade jams to hot food and craft items. Music filled the bandstand throughout the day, while visitors also found time to relax and enjoy the cookery and gardening demonstrations in the marquee.
All in all, it was a busy, enjoyable and very well-organised day in the sunshine - a wonderful celebration of Pershore and its community.

A Day of Fun, Friendship and Fundraising
The Rotary stand was once again home to our ever-popular Champagne Tombola, giving visitors the chance to win champagne, Prosecco, beers, ciders and soft drinks, all generously supported by Tesco Pershore.
At just £2 per roll, the Tombola proved hugely popular with visitors who had an excellent chance of taking home a bottle - and the prizes certainly flew off the shelves!
More importantly, the event gave Rotary members a wonderful opportunity to meet local people, families and visitors. There were plenty of smiles, stories and conversations and perhaps a few attempts to persuade passers-by that this was definitely the winning Tombola ticket!

By the end of the day, we were delighted to be able to donate £600 to the Pershore Wellbeing Hub.
A huge thank you goes to Carole and Paul and the rest of the Pershore Rotary team and of course to Jo, Ann, Gilly, Kirsty, Fiona, Paddy and Ian from the Wellbeing Hub team for joining us and helping to make the day such fun.
Supporting the Wellbeing Hub
The Pershore Wellbeing Hub provides a safe and welcoming space where people of all ages can find support, a listening ear and access to a network of services designed to help people lead healthier and happier lives. Trained volunteers are on hand to listen, support and help people take positive steps towards improved wellbeing.
Pershore Rotary is proud to support this valuable local resource and we hope our contribution will help the Hub continue its work in the community.
Pershore Comes Alive
The Plum Festival is one of Pershore’s best-known annual events, celebrating the town’s long-standing connection with the plum. Wychavon Council describes the event as “the home of one of Worcestershire’s most cherished traditions”, with Pershore coming alive each summer to celebrate its famous plums and showcase local growers, makers, performers and the wider community.
There was something for everyone - from the impressive collection of vintage, classic and private cars to the cookery and gardening demonstrations, craft and food stalls, live entertainment and the ever-popular Bike Night.
The organisers reported massive crowds, making this one of the busiest festivals in the event’s history.
Congratulations to Wychavon Council and everyone involved in organising such a successful and enjoyable community event.

For Pershore Rotary, it was a great day of community, conversation, fun and fundraising and we were delighted to play our part.
And, not surprisingly, we’re already thinking about doing it all again next year!
