Mina and Colin's 100 mile walk

Mina Crisp is walking 100 miles in five days next week - and why? Because she is passionate about education in Jinja, in Uganda, where she was born.

Mina and Colin's 100 mile walk

Pershore Rotary Club President, Mina Crisp, sets out on a 100 mile walk on 14th September from Reading to Bristol over just 5 (yes five) days to raise funds for the Jinja Educational Trust and Lords Meade Vocational College, both delivering educational support for children in Uganda. JET for primary and Lords Meade for secondary and tertiary.

Mina was born in Uganda and lived in Jinja until Idi Amin expelled all the Asians from Uganda and so Mina came to England as a refugee. She still loves Jinja and has been both a fund-raiser and a trustee of the UK registered Jinja Educational Trust Charity.

Mina will not be walking alone. Colin Emm loves walking for charity and has done so for the last two years and has also supported the trusts in Jinja. He and Mina have previously walked together and decided that they would accompany each other on this walk too.

Walking 100 miles in just five days is not an easy thing to do and both Mina and Colin have undertaken weeks of training and planning for this - please recognise all that effort with your donations. Pictures of Mina and Colin on training walks are below.
