Pershore Rotary will be recognising Her Majesty’s platinum jubilee by planting a traditional British oak tree in the Abbey grounds on Friday, 11 March 2022 at 11.00am.
The planting of an oak in Pershore is part of the Queen’s Green Canopy project and will be carried out by Richard Amphlett, High Sheriff of Worcestershire, supported by Julian Palfrey, Mayor of Pershore, Robert Raphael, Chairman of Wychavon District Council, Anne Dobbins, Clerk to Pershore Town Council and Liz Gardner, President of Pershore Inner Wheel.
The Revd Claire Lording will bless the tree.
Pershore Rotary President, Lucy Thornton, and fellow Rotarians will be assisting the planting.
President Lucy thanks all those involved with the planting, Jane O’Connor and team from Wychavon DC’s Parks and Open Spaces Department, Steven Cooper our blacksmith, Browns Hardware Store, Hughes and Company Printers, The White Horse Hotel, The Round Table of Pershore and our Town Crier Robert Speight.
